Most frequent questions and answers

WHEN ARE JUNIOR CLASS FEES DUE?

All fees must be paid up 10 days before the class program starts.

Reminder emails will be sent 4 days before the fee due date.

Any unpaid spaces will be offered to the players on the waiting list 9 days before the start of the class program.

You may sign up for multiple sessions within the program, just use the online payment to pay for each class. 

You will be given the opportunity at least 2 weeks before the end of your program to continue to the next program.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

The junior registration form is available on the main website under the Registration for Junior Classes section of the main menu at the top right of the website. 

Players wishing to attend adult drop-in sessions need to complete the form that can be found in the Registration for Drop-In Sessions.

Completed forms will be automatically sent to the club when you click the “Register” button at the bottom of the forms. 

DOES THE CLUB RESTRING RACKETS?

REFUND POLICY

We will look at individual cases as they come up. If you sign up for a program and then choose to withdraw before the program starts, you will be subject to a 10% admin fee.

WHAT DOES THE CLUB OFFER?

We host junior classes 4 days of the week at a variety of locations. The classes are based on the player’s current playing ability and not their age.

We have an adult drop-in rec play session on Monday nights.

Completion of a registration form is required before playing in any session.

Registration forms can be done online by following using the tabs in the main menu.                                                                                                                          

WHERE EXACTLY IS THE CLUB?

The junior programs at Park Meadows Elementary School, Fritz Sick Centre, Shift Recreation Centre in Coaldale, Nicholas Sheran Elementary School, and Ecole St Mary School. 

Adult drop-in play is at Park Meadows Baptist Church.

DROP IN PLAY

Check the Adult Rec and Drop In Tab at the top menu of the website.

There are drop-ins on  Mondays (check Calendar) at the Park Meadows Baptist Church, 2011 15 Ave N, Lethbridge, AB T1H 5J4.

ARE THE COACHES GOING TO BE THE SAME FOR EVERY PRACTICE?

The lead coach at each class is the same each week, except on the rare occasion that they cannot be there. Assistant coaches and volunteers will also be at each practice guiding things along.

ARE THERE GOING TO BE TOURNAMENTS?

Right now, Badminton Alberta are keen to get something happening in Southern Alberta but we don’t have anything concrete yet. We will post things as soon as we know them.

Internal club tournaments will be held as often as possible.

ABUSE AND DISCIPLINE POLICY

We are following as best we can the policies at badminton Alberta, so please refer there if you have questions. (see the hyperlink on the main site), but also please read below.

​Abuse of the coaches and staff of the Club will not be tolerated. We are there to help improve players at the club. If players or parents are abusive towards the staff or coaches, or disruptive to the class, they will be asked to stop, but if this behavior continues there will be a warning. If this behavior continues, the offender may be asked to leave the club during that session. If the behavior continues, the offending player/parent may face action from the club which may include having your spot in the club revoked and any remaining funds may be forfeited.

We are willing to listen to suggestions but direction of the coaching program will be in the hands of the head coach.

CREDIT POLICY FOR MISSED JUNIOR CLASSES

The Lethbridge Badminton Club understands that unforeseen circumstances may arise, leading to missed classes. To ensure fairness and consistency, the following policy applies to requests for credits toward future classes:

  • If a participant is unable to attend classes for two or more consecutive weeks, parents or guardians may request a credit to be applied to future sessions.
  • A doctor’s note may be required to support the request, depending on the nature and duration of the absence.
