Meet The Team

LETHBRIDGE BADMINTON CLUB STAFF

Head Coach / Athletic Director

MARTIN LAWRENCE

Coming from the UK, Martin brings a wealth of badminton knowledge and experience, having coached beginners, right up to international level players.

Martin coached the Essex junior teams in the UK and was Head Coach for Alberta at NAIG 2023.

LEXI ZEEB

Lexi is currently a student nurse in Lethbridge.

Lexi finished in the top 8 in the Alberta schools badminton tournament in 2023 and continues to play at the LBC adult sessions.

Coaching since 2021, Lexi recently completed the NCCP Regional coach course and is a cerified Regional coach. She enjoys helping junior players improve and wants to take players to the next level when competing in zones or provincials.

Assistant Coach

KUAN JU CHU

Kuan started playing badminton when he was in grade 2. He represented the school team after training for two years and trained competitively for national tournaments in Taiwan before moving to Lethbridge.

Kuan recently finished his Kinesiology major at the University of Lethbridge. He continues to advance his knowledge in sports performance and applies both his education and personal experience to coach elite athletes.

Kuan is a certified NCCP Regional coach and is currently a "Trained" Provincial coach, and working towards being certified.

Volunteer Assistant

LAUREN GALLIMORE

Lauren won gold in the ASAA provincial tournament, medaled at the Alberta Winter Games and participated in numerous Badminton Alberta tournaments.

Lauren was the assistant coach for the Alberta badminton team at the 2023 NAIG and assists at local high and middle school teams.

Lauren is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

TREVOR ALEXANDER


Trevor has lived in Lethbridge for most of his life and been playing badminton for over 30 years.

You will see Trevor on court during the LBC recreation sessions and during the junior classes where his sons train.

Trevor is pursuing his NCCP Regional coaching certification. He is currently "Trained", and working towards being certified.

Club Secretary

PETER DREW

Peter originates from the UK where he played in competetive amateur league badminton for 23 years. During his amateur playing career, Peter spent 19 years as the volunteer club secretary, and is looking forward to bringing both his playing and administration experience to our club.
In February 2023, Peter joined the board of Badminton Alberta as the representative for Southern Alberta. Peter wants to help promote and facilitate grassroots playing of badminton and participation in our sport at all levels across southern Alberta. Peter is pursuing his NCCP Regional coaching certification, and is currently "Trained", and working towards being certified.
